What is rosin solder wire and why using it?

A rosin solder wire is a type of solder that is made with a rosin based flux core during the casting of the solder wire. To use this type of solder, there is no need to apply external flux, we can use it directly to perform a soldering work, because it contains flux already. So it's very handy, time saving to use a rosin solder wire when comparing to using a solid wire (to use solid wire we need to apply flux in separate), that's why rosin solder wire is becoming more and more popular.

1. Alloy: It can be lead free solder wire such as SAC305 Solder wire, SAC0307 Solder Wire, SAC07 Solder Wire, or leaded type such as Sn63Pb37, Sn60Pb40, Sn50Pb50, Sn40Pb60 etc.

2. Wire diameter: from 0.5mm up to 3.2mm, any in between such as 1mm solder wire, 2mm solder wire, 3mm solder wire all can be made.

3. Applications: The rosin solder wire is majorly used for soldering electronics, and because rosin is a neutral, non agressive material, after soldering, there is only little residue, thus no need to do cleaning.
