Tin wire
What is a tin wire?
Tin wire is a metal alloy that is tin based and cast into wires, generally it's winded into a small reel. The tin wire is used for soldering purpose, also known as tin solder wire. Tin is the main ingredient, and generally is alloyed with other metals such as lead to form tin lead solder wire, or with silver & copper to form lead free tin solder wire.
How do we use tin wire?
1. If you are using the tin wire to solder electronics, then an electrical soldering iron will be used together. Soldering must be performed along with compatible flux, so we can choose a rosin cored tin wire which already contains flux, or use a solid tin wire without flux and then apply external flux in separate. Soldering iron temperature generally should be between 250degrees Celsius to 300degrees Celsius in order to melt the tin wire properly (considering tin lead wire has a melting point of around 190degrees Celsius while a lead free tin wire is at around 230degree Celsius).
2. If you are using tin wire for soldering metals, such as copper plumbing pipes, radiators made of copper etc, then a gas torch gun will be used in order to get a high enough temperature for the solder to well melt & flow, also allows users to adjust the solder more properly when it still can flow.
