Melting point of lead free solder wire

What is the melting point of lead free solder wire?

Lead free solder wires are available in different compositions and each composition has a different melting point. The lead free solder wire means the solder wire is made of tin, silver and copper without lead content, it's a solder wire that complies to ROHS regulation. And we have majorly 3 types of lead free solder wire and below are the melting point of lead free solder wire:

Type One: SAC305 lead free solder wire melting point. This SAC305 solder wire is made of 3.0% silver and 0.5% copper, remaining 96.5% is tin. This is a eutectic alloy of tin-silver-copper solder alloy, and the melting point is 217℃, the liquidus and solidus temperature is same.

Type Two: SAC0307 lead free solder wire melting point. This SAC0307 solder wire is composed of 0.3% silver, 0.7% copper and remaining 99% is tin. This solder wire contains low silver, it save a lot of cost comparing to SAC305, but the 0.3% silver still improve the solder-ability and electrical conductivity. The melting point is 217 to 225℃, the solidus temperature is 217℃ and liquidus temperature is 225℃.

Type Three: SAC07 lead free solder wire melting point. The SAC07 solder wire contains no silver comparing to the other two types, it's just composed of tin at 99.3% and copper and 0.7%, it's the most economic one among the three lead free solder wire. The melting point is 227℃, its also an eutectic alloy, solidus temperature and liquidus temperature the same.
