What is SAC305 Solder Wire?
SAC305 Solder wire is a lead free solder wire, that is consisted of silver, copper and tin. S represents tin (Sn), A represents silver (Ag), C represents Copper (Cu), and the 305 represents the percentage of each metal. So this lead free solder wire SAC305 is composed of 3.0% of silver, 0.5% of copper and remaining 96.5% is tin. It complies with ROHS regulation. The SAC305 Solder wire is an eutectic solder alloy, with melting point 217℃, the lowest melting among the lead free solder family of SAC Group.
What is SAC305 Solder wire used for?
1. The main application of SAC305 solder wire is used for soldering of high precision electronics, it's an ideal replacement to the tin lead solder wire 63/37.
2. It can be used to solder metals, for example, soldering of copper pipes and fittings, because it's lead free solder wire, so it is allowed to be used for soldering of portable water pipes which the leaded solder is prohibited to be used.
3. Soldering of jewelry, such as silver jewelry etc.
How is SAC305 solder wire comparing to other lead free solder wire?
There are another two types of lead free solder wire: SAC0307 solder wire and SAC07 solder wire. If cost is not an issue, SA305 solder wire will definitely be the first option to choose, because it contains high silver which makes the solder easy to wet and flow, and electrical conductivity is excellent, also it takes less heat to melt. Among the 3 types, SAC305 solder wire has the best properties as listed above, only thing is it's much more expensive.
