60/40 alloy solder
The 60/40 alloy solder is a solder consisted of tin and lead, with tin at 60% and lead at 40% respectively. It's a very commonly used solder alloy besides the 63/37 alloy solder.
There two types of existence of 60/40 alloy solder:
60/40 alloy solder wire: this type of product comes in a wire shape, and in roll form. A flexible product to work with, generally more used in manual soldering. But nowadays more and more factory use automatic robot soldering, and solder wire is used for such case too.
60/40 alloy solder bar: this type of product comes in a bar form, piece by piece, some comes in a shape like stick.
Applications of 60/40 alloy solder:
60/40 alloy solder wire can be used for soldering of electronic components, soldering of stained glass, soldering of plumbing pipes and fittings.
While 60/40 alloy solder bar are used for wave soldering of electronic components, soldering of copper roofing and flashing etc.
