What is spool of solder?

It's a solder wire that is winded into a spool, convenient to use. Making it into a spool are for several reasons, one hand is some manufacturers use the robot soldering thus a solder winded onto a spool is easy to be stacked onto the rack or the working platform; on the other hand, even if it's for manual soldering, such a spool of solder is easy to be released and used, convenient to stock. It looks like below photo.

Basic information about spool of solder:

1. Spool size: outer diameter 62mm for spool to wind 500g to 1000g of solder. Small spool is about 52mm, suitable to wind solder of 50g to 250g.

2. Wire diameter: solder wire diameter from 0.2mm upto 3.2mm, all can be winded onto a spool.

3. Material of spool: plastic, with the core to be hollow.
