What is Lead rosin core solder?

Lead rosin core solder is solder wire that is made from lead & tin alloy. In the market it's called tin lead solder or leaded tin solder as well. This type of solder generally comes in a small coil form, and the wire is pre fluxed in the core of wire. It's very convenient to use the Lead rosin core solder, for it's already pre fluxed, and there is no need to add external flux although it won't harm if you add.

Basic knowledge of Lead rosin core solder:

1. There are different alloys of lead solder depending on the percentage of lead & tin content respectively, it can be Sn63Pb37 solder or Sn60Pb40 solder or down to Sn10Pb90. The higher content of lead is, the cheaper in price the solder would be, and the softer the solder would be.

2. The rosin core solder is suitable for making electronics product, and in most cases, it's no necessary to remove residue, as there is only little residue produced from a rosin flux and the residue is non agreesive at all.

3. There can be different wire diameter from 0.6mm up to 3.2mm, choose the correct ones.
