What is pb free solder?

Pb free solder is a type of solder that doesn't contain lead in it. Pb free solder is also called as lead free solder, it's ROHS compliant solder that is environmentally & health friendly. The using of pb free solder is becoming more and more.

What is pb free solder used for?

Pb free solder is used for electronics manufacturing. In some markets, the electronic products have to all lead free complying with ROHS, thus all the PCB, ICs & solders that used in the product have to be pb free. Generally we will use SAC305 lead free solder, SAC0307 lead free solder & SAC07 lead free solder for these applications.

Pb free solder is also used for soldering of metals, especially for plumbing pipes (portable water pipes) etc. Lead is no good for health, so it's prohibited for being used for soldering drinking water pipes. Thus lead free solder such Sn97Cu7 lead free solder, Sn99.3Cu0.7 lead free solder will be used.
