What is Sn 60 Pb 40?

Sn represents tin, Pb represents lead, the Sn 60 Pb 40 is one common solder alloy that is consisted of 60% tin & 40% lead if measured by weight. It's one of the most widely used solder alloy besides Sn 63 Pb37.

What is the feature of Sn 60 Pb 40?

1. Low melting point. Solder alloy Sn 60 Pb 40 has a melting point of 183 to 190℃. It's easy to melt this alloy.

2. Good fluidity. It flows easily and fast to cover the solder joint area & form a nice solder bead.

3. Good electrical conductivity. It's very frequently to be used in the soldering of electronic components for this reason.

What forms of Sn 60 Pb 40 is available in?

The solder alloy Sn 60 Pb 40 can be made into:

1. Solder wire, and used for soldering of electronic components, or used for soldering metals such as copper plumbing or stained glass etc.

2. Solder bar, and used for wave soldering or dip soldering of electronic products, or used for soldering steel plates etc.

3. Solder paste, and used for SMT soldering of electronics.
