What is soldertin?
Soldertin is solder tin alloy, this material is tin based and mixed with other alloys such as lead, silver, copper etc to form different solder alloys. Soldertin is a soft solder with lower melting point when comparing to brazing or welding, so it's more suitable to be used for any applications that requires a lower working temperature.
Types of soldertin:
1. Soldertin in wire form. This one is called solder wire, and winded into a coil form. It's usually used together with a soldering iron or soldering robot. Very flexible form to work with, especially for some electronic repairing work.
2. Soldertin in bar form. This one is known as solder bar, and generally is used for dip soldering, wave soldering of electronic manufacturing; Or being used for joining of copper sheets etc, such as copper roofing, steel sheets, aluminium sheets etc.
3. Soldertin in paste form. This one is called solder paste, and used for SMT through re-flow soldering. It's suitable to be used when the IC is small.
There are many different compositions of the soldertin, it can be lead free soldertin or leaded soldertin, depending on what you want to use for. Chose the correct one.
