What is Rosin core electrical solder?

It's a solder wire, that is pre fluxed and used for electrical soldering. The flux is rosin based no clean flux. 

 

Why do we use Rosin core electrical solder?

1. All soldering work, needs both flux & solder alloy to work together to get it performed well. If we just use the bare metal (the solder), after melting, it won't stick to the electronic components. The flux will help to clean the surface of joint area and help the solder to better melt & flow, thus when we use a solder wire, if it's not a pre fluxed rosin core electrical solder wire, then we will have to prepare rosin flux in seperate.

2. Rosin core electrical solder is a 2-in-1 option, meaning we can complete a soldering work in one step, so it's pretty time saving which eventually means more productivity. If we use a solid solder wire, we have to complete the soldering work in two steps, it's quite troublesome & annoying.

What alloys can Rosin core electrical solder be available in?

It can be lead free electrical solder such as SAC305, SAC0307, SAC07 or it can be leaded electrical solder such as Sn63Pb37, Sn60Pb40, Sn40Pb60 etc.
