Solder bar is a solder material that is cast into bar form, it's tin based and combined with other metals such as lead, copper, silver to made into different alloys for different applications.
What are solder bar used for?
Application 1: for electronic manufacturing. It's used to bond the electronic components with the PCB, in the ways of dip soldering or wave soldering.
Application 2: for assembly of metals. Solder bar can be used for soldering copper roofing sheets, soldering plumbing pipes, for soldering radiators, soldering stained glass.
What alloys can solder bar be made into?
Lead free solder bar: SAC305, SAC0307, SAC07
Leaded solder bar: Sn63Pb37, Sn60Pb40, Sn50Pb50, Sn40Pb60, Sn30Pb70 etc
How is solder bar manufacturered?
1. Tin ingots & other ingots to be measured by weight as per the alloy that we want to cast, in order to get the right portion (which means the correct composition)
2. Smelting of the ingots using smelter.
3. When the tin & related metals are well mixted and melt into a liquid status, pour them into the solder bar casting dyes to get solder bar.
